Stunt Driving

September 17, 2018 – During the middle of the afternoon, two LaSalle officers observed a rider on a motor cycle doing “wheelies” along Normandy St. They observed that the front wheel of the motorcycle was high above the road surface. The officers pulled over the rider for “Stunt Driving”. The driver was advised of the reason for the stop. His licence was seized on the spot, and suspended for 7 days. Fraud

September 10 An Officer was dispatched to the front lobby of the police station to speak with a resident who informed the officer that he had been a victim of Fraud. The man had become aware that his bank and credit card had been compromised at which point he had attended his banking institution. The Financial Institution advised him to contact police and indicated they will be doing a parallel internal investigation into the matter, and hopefully the approximate total of $100,000 that was taken from his account will be reimbursed to the client. Sept 7 A local resident had shown interest in a vehicle that was being offered for sale on Kijiji website. The resident was contacted by the people who had posted the ad and invited him to come to the 1300 block of Cadillac in Windsor to see the vehicle. Civil Dispute

Sept. 4 Officers attended a local residence to mediate a civil dispute regarding sale/purchase of a house. The vendors had turned over a key to the house they were selling to the purchaser before getting their money. The buyer moved into the house shortly thereafter. The two parties then renegotiated an extension to the sale agreement, and both parties advised they would abide by it. Coyote Spotted

A concerned citizen attended the station to advise that her small dog had been attacked by a coyote while the dog was in the side yard, located in the 1100 block of Reaume Rd. Residents are reminded to exercise caution when letting small dogs out (especially in early morning and evening hours). It is recommended to turn exterior lights on, regularly clean up your dog’s feces, and keep a constant eye on your animals.
