Suspicious Vehicle Fire

On October 11, 2018, LaSalle Police were called upon by LaSalle Fire to assist at the scene of a vehicle fire on Martin Lane at approximately 4:30 AM. The police were contacted due to the suspicious nature of the fire. Fire personnel determined it to be suspicious due to the location, time and where the truck was parked as well as the fact that no one was around. Suspicious Incident on Laurier Drive

On Monday October 1, 2018 at around 1:00 PM police were informed about a suspicious incident involving two Sandwich Secondary students. The call came from school officials who indicated that two of their students were spoken to by a strange couple along Laurier Drive. What prompted the call to police was that the scenario was reminiscent of similar incidents reported on social media in Windsor. Officers attended the school and spoke with the students and their parents. The two students told officers that at around 12:30 PM they were walking to a home on Laurier Drive (between Malden and Matchette).

Possible Contractor’s Fraud

September 28, 2018 A case of possible contractor’s fraud – A local resident called police and told them that he had paid money to have his windows repaired but the job had not been completed, and the ‘contractor’ was refusing to attend the site or return the deposit he had been given to complete the work. Police got in touch with the “contractor” who denied the claim. The resident who had found this contractor on Kijiji was advised to be more circumspect of such contractors in the future.
