Speeding Over 40km/h Over the Limit Results in Stunt Driving Charge

An adult male driver is facing a charge of Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt – Speeding by 40 km/h or more, after the vehicle he was driving was clocked on radar at 92 kilometers per hour in a 50 kilometer per hour zone. The infraction took place in the 2300 block of Front Road in LaSalle where an officer was conducting radar traffic enforcement. As a result of the charge, his driver’s licence was suspended for seven days and his vehicle was towed and impounded for 14 days. Please obey the rules of the road and drive safely.

Break and Enter Thwarted and Would-be Thief Arrested

On Friday, July 9, 2021, just after 2:00 a.m., LaSalle Police Officers were dispatched to a restaurant on Malden Road for a report of a break and enter in progress. The business owner was on-site, working in his office when he heard the person breaking in and called the police. The male gained entry to the building by breaking an exterior door and was observed on video surveillance, rummaging through things in the front of the business. Officers will be handing out “ice cream cone” coupons donated by McDonald’s to local youths that officers see practicing “safe” bicycling skills. The youth will also be entered in a raffle for a chance to win a bicycle donated by the LaSalle Police Youth Foundation at the end of the summer draw. 3 Day Driver’s Licence Suspension – Alcohol

An adult female motorist has had her driver’s licence suspended for a period of three days after a traffic stop with LaSalle Police just before 1:00 a.m. on Monday, July 5th, 2021. While speaking with the driver, the officer suspected that they were operating their vehicle after consuming alcohol and demanded that she submit to a test to determine if her ability to operate the vehicle was impaired. Motorist Charged With Stunt Driving for Excessive Speed

On Friday, July 2nd, 2021 just before 2:30 PM, a LaSalle Police Officer conducting radar/traffic enforcement on Front Road observed a Hyundai Tiburon travelling at 92 km/h in a posted 50 km/h zone. The officer stopped the vehicle and issued the adult male driver a summons for drive motor vehicle perform stunt- speeding by 40 or more km/h in a zone that is less than 80 km/h. Motorcycle Crash on Highway 18

Case # LA 21-6988 On Saturday, July 3rd, 2021 just before midnight, LaSalle Police Officers responded to a motorcycle collision on Highway 18 just north of the Turkey Creek Bridge.   An adult male was driving the motorcycle northbound toward Windsor when it struck the raised median causing the driver to lose control.  The driver suffered serious and potentially life threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital by ambulance where he remains in critical condition.
