The LaSalle Police Service is notifying area residents that we are investigating a daytime break-in to a residence that occurred sometime over the weekend of March 25, 2022, on D’Amore Drive, LaSalle. Update to Amanda Lyons Homicide Investigation
Report #22-1539 The LaSalle Police Service Criminal Investigation continues to investigate the homicide of 34-year-old, Amanda Lyons who was found deceased inside her residence by LaSalle Police Officers on the morning of March 19th, 2022. Through investigation, detectives identified Amanda’s husband, 34-year-old Blair Lyons as being responsible for her homicide. His vehicle, a white 2017 GMC 2500 pickup, was located early Saturday morning abandoned on the Ambassador Bridge. LaSalle Police officers were sent to his residence to check on the wellbeing of the occupants and to investigate the abandoned vehicle further when they discovered the homicide. Update – Person arrested – Officer Injured in Collision During a Vehicle Theft Investigation
Report #22-1450 UPDATE: Officers of the LaSalle Police Service and the Windsor Police Service continued to investigate an incident regarding the theft of a white, 2016 GMC Sierra 2500 pickup that collided with a LaSalle Police Cruiser, injuring the occupying police officer. Working together, officers were able to identify a suspect, a 31 year old male of no fixed address, and furthered their investigation. Report #22-1450 A LaSalle Police Officer suffered minor injuries after a stolen vehicle collided, head-on with his cruiser early Monday morning.
