The LaSalle Police Service will be holding its 25th annual bicycle rodeo on Saturday, June 4th, 2022 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex with the assistance of Bike Windsor Essex. The event will be held outside in the semi-circle drop-off zone near the main entrance of the complex. The bicycle rodeo aims to teach safe cycling skills to children aged 15 and under. Police Locate Body of Blair Lyons
Report #22-1539 On Monday, May 2, 2022, just after 11:00 AM, the Windsor Police Service Marine Unit was notified by a ship crew that they had observed a body in the Detroit River between the Ambassador Bridge and Fighting Island. The Windsor Police Marine Unit attended and recovered the body with the assistance of the Windsor Port Authority. The LaSalle Police Service Criminal Investigation Unit attended and were able to confirm that it was Blair Lyons, whom police had been seeking as a suspect in a homicide as well as the subject of a missing person investigation. LaSalle Police Service Vessel Safety Equipment Inspection Clinic
On Sunday, May 1st, 2022 the LaSalle Police Service hosted a complimentary vessel safety equipment inspection clinic at Gil Maure Park in LaSalle. Despite the inclement weather, approximately 15 vessels were inspected, all of which had no to minimal deficiencies. The goal of the clinic was to ensure that our boaters have all of the required safety equipment aboard before setting out and to promote safe boating.
