On December 7, 2019, Just before 5:00 AM a LaSalle Police Officer stopped a vehicle on Pinewood Place in LaSalle for a traffic violation. During his interaction with the driver the officer discovered that they were not licenced. The officer also detected the odour of alcohol coming from the driver. The officer demanded a breath sample from the driver, who complied and registered above 50 milligrams of alcohol per 100 milliliters of blood. According to the Ministry of Transportation, this was the second instance where this particular driver had registered in the warn range and was eligible for a 7 day drivers licence suspension rather than a 3 day drivers licence suspension which a driver would receive in the first instance. The driver also received a traffic violation notice for driving a motor vehicle without a licence which carries a fine of $325.00. Please don’t drink and drive.
