Adult Male Charged With Perform Stunt – Speeding on Front Road

An adult male from Windsor was issued a summons for “Perform Stunt – Speeding” when a LaSalle Police Officer caught him travelling well above the posted 50km/h speed limit on Front Road near Jewell Street. On February 20th, at 8:30 p.m., the officer was conducting radar traffic enforcement in the area when a blue Dodge Caravan caught his attention due to its excessive speed which was captured on laser radar at 104 km/h. The male’s licence was automatically suspended for 30 days and his vehicle was towed and impounded for 14 days for which he will be responsible for all associated towing and storage fees.

Once the period of suspension expires, the driver will be required to pay a $281.00 driver’s licence reinstatement fee to Service Ontario before being legally eligible to drive a motor vehicle.

If convicted, he will face a fine of not less than $2000.00 and his licence could be suspended for not more than two years (if this is a first conviction) and not more than ten years on any subsequent conviction.

Every kilometre you travel over the speed limit increases your stopping distance and decreases your ability to avoid a hazard. As your speed increases so do everyone’s chances of being injured or killed if you are involved in a collision.

Please drive safely and follow the rules of the road.
