Parental Abduction

Last week, LaSalle Police Service were contacted by an RCMP officer from PEI. The RCMP officer advised that they were in the midst of investigating an incident involving parental child abduction. The officer explained that they were looking for a young mother who may have come to LaSalle over the past few days. The two young people at the centre of this saga are not married and do not live together. However, they did have a child together. The child

Good Samaritan Act

Did you know that since 2017, the Good Samaritan Act provides immunity from simple possession charges for those who call 911 in the case of an overdose? Opioid overdoses are claiming the lives of thousands of Canadians of all ages, and from all walks of life. The impact of the opioid crisis continues to be devastating to individuals, families and communities. So far during the month of May, we have had 8 motor vehicle collisions involving physical

The two women who were involved in this incident are adults and should have known better then to continue a belligerent/hurtful chat. Since both participated in the conversation equally, they were advised they shared equal responsibility in the matter. Both were advised to block each other on Messenger and avoid each other on-line or off-line. We will reiterate the same

Prank Call

A young resident attended the station to report that someone had left a message on his voicemail indicating they would shoot him. The young man went on to say that he has no known enemies and was worried about the threat. The investigating officer listened to the voicemail, but could not confirm the threat as the voice was muffled. While trying to listen to the message again, the officer noted that the voicemail message was from an existing contact in the young man’s phone. Once this discovery was made, the young man thought it may be a prank call from his
