Suspicious Circumstances

On January 9, 2020, The LaSalle Police Service Communication Centre received a 911 call from a young resident who stated they had just returned home and believed that they could hear someone inside their house. Officers responded to the call immediately and looked through the entire house to ensure there was no one there. They checked all of the exterior doors and windows and were able to determine that there was no forced entry nor any sign that anyone had been inside the residence. Three-Day Driver’s Licence Suspension – Alcohol

On January 9, 2020, A LaSalle Police Officer had occasion to stop a motor vehicle on Front Road and while speaking with the male driver the officer detected the odour of alcohol on his breath. The driver tried to provide a false name to the officers however the officers were able to quickly and properly identify him via other means. The driver provided the officers with a sample of his breath into a roadside screening device which indicated that his blood / alcohol concentration was above 50 mgs of alcohol per 100 ml of blood. Theft Under $5000.00

On January 7, 2020, LaSalle Police officers attended the area of Zehrs Great Food on Malden Road for a reported shoplifter. The culprit was being monitored while at the store due to suspicious behaviour in a location of the store known for higher incidences of theft. The culprit was observed concealing items as well as placing “reduced price” stickers on other items. The culprit made not attempt to pay for the concealed items and fraudulently received a discount on the other items. The culprit was arrested and charged with Theft Under $5000.00.

Driving Complaint

On January 7, 2020, The LaSalle Police Service received information of a vehicle driving in LaSalle and that a child was seen with their body leaning out of one of the vehicles windows. The complainant provided the licence plate number for the vehicle after which the officer contacted the driver/ owner. The driver confirmed that there was a child with his head out of the window of his vehicle when driving. On January 6, 2020, A resident was attempting to sell some furniture on Kijiji. They received text messages from a person who claimed that they were interested in the furniture. They agreed on a price and the method of payment would be via PayPal. A short while later the seller received an email from what appeared to be PayPal, inquiring if they were willing to accept the agreed upon price. On January 4, 2020, A young Windsor driver now has a day in court to answer to a justice of the peace as to why they were driving their vehicle at a speed of 153 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone on Highway #3 near Montgomery Drive. On January 1, 2020, It was 10 minutes before the New Year began when Dispatch received two 911 calls transferred from the Windsor Police Service regarding a possible impaired driver. Both calls described the vehicle heading southbound on Ojibway Parkway and continuing south on Highway 18. Break and Enter

On December 30, 2019, at approximately 9:00 AM a LaSalle Police Officer attended the 6000 block of Silver Maple Road, LaSalle for a reported break and enter to a home under construction that had occurred overnight. The residence was only partially built with no bay garage door. All other access doors to the interior of the residence were locked. Access to the interior was gained by breaking the dry-wall in the garage. There was nothing stolen from within the residence. Damage to the residence was estimated at about $200.

On December 30, 2019, an officer was dispatched to the lobby to speak to a female in regards to her providing her credit card and personal information to a fraudulent Amazon account. The resident stated that she is a regular Amazon shopper and that when she tried to log into Prime, she was redirected to a different web page and received an email within minutes from an unknown email. On December 29, 2019, LaSalle Police officers were notified of a possible theft that had just occurred at Zehrs Great Food on Malden Road, LaSalle.
