Break and Enter Thwarted and Would-be Thief Arrested

On Friday, July 9, 2021, just after 2:00 a.m., LaSalle Police Officers were dispatched to a restaurant on Malden Road for a report of a break and enter in progress. The business owner was on-site, working in his office when he heard the person breaking in and called the police. The male gained entry to the building by breaking an exterior door and was observed on video surveillance, rummaging through things in the front of the business. Officers arrived on scene within one minute, surrounding the business, and located a lone, adult male inside the restaurant. The male was arrested without incident and is charged with breaking and entering, Possession of break-in instruments, and breach of probation. He was released on a document compelling his appearance in court to answer to the charges.
