On June 16, 2019, an officer was dispatched St. Michael’s street for a by-law dog complaint. The caller advised he was in his garage with his own dog when 3 dogs from his neighbours home entered the garage and began growling and fighting with his dog. He was able to quickly grab a garden hose to spray the dogs and get them to stop or run away. The investigating officer attended the neighbour’s residence to advise him of the complaint and he immediately began apologizing. He advised the officer that his wife had accidentally left the front door open and the dogs got out. The officer educated the male on the dog by-laws, as well as the Dog Owners Liability Act. Due to the quick thinking of the caller, there were no injuries to dogs or persons.
