Crisis Intervention

On April 2, 2019, officers responded to a call in regards to a young person who just left their home after expressing to their parent that they were having “suicidal ideation. ” The officers were able to locate the young person and learned that the issues stemmed from problems at school. The young person felt overwhelmed and had considered suicide. Police contacted the Community Crisis Center and the young person was able to speak with a councillor and was given the number to call back at any time they may feel the need.
