Cyber Spat

A local woman attended the station to file a harassment complaint against a former co-worker. What started off as an innocent chat on Facebook Messenger ended up getting mean spirited, and found its way to the police station’s front lobby. The two women who were involved in this incident are adults and should have known better then to continue a belligerent/hurtful chat. Since both participated in the conversation equally, they were advised they shared equal responsibility in the matter. Both were advised to block each other on Messenger and avoid each other on-line or off-line. We will reiterate the same message we give to our Grade 6 students when teaching the VIP course (Values, Influences, Peer’s); don’t publish or post something that you would not say to the person in a face-to-face interaction.
