On August 4, 2019, LaSalle Police officers were requested to attend Front Road near Laurier Drive for a driving complaint regarding an elderly male travelling southbound and at times on the wrong side of the roadway. Officers were able to locate the vehicle in question on Front Road near Victory Street. They observed several other vehicles travelling near the subject vehicle, attempting to get the driver to stop as they believed he was in medical distress. The police officers activated their emergency lights and siren and the male pulled over to the side of the road. The elderly male driver did not exhibit any signs of impairment or any medical distress. He was having trouble locating his street. The officers drove him and his vehicle home. A request for a driver’s licence review has been sent to the Ministry of Transportation.
