Impaired Driver Arrested – Exceed Over 80 mgs Alcohol / Stunt Driver Charged – 94 km/hr / 50 km/hr Zone

During the evening of Friday, December 30, 2022, the LaSalle Police Service’s Traffic Enforcement Unit conducted a mobile R.I.D.E. / Traffic Enforcement initiative within various locations in the Town of LaSalle. The officers stopped and investigated several motor vehicles and conducted numerous roadside sobriety tests.

A 43-year-old male was arrested and charged with Exceeding Over 80 mgs of alcohol after officers observed him swerving within the lane he was travelling in.

A 16-year-old male was stopped and charged with Stunt Driving after he was observed travelling 94 km/hr in a posted 50 km/hr zone within a residential area of the Town of LaSalle.

The LaSalle Police will continue to educate and inform the public of the consequences of driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs and will conduct R.I.D.E. Programs throughout the year to help prevent and stop impaired driving.

In addition to impaired screening, officers issued several cautions for traffic-related infractions including burnt-out headlights, expired licence plates, driver’s licences, seat belts and insurance documents.

The LaSalle Police Service wishes to remind all drivers to arrive alive and don’t drink and drive.
