Report #22-1450
A LaSalle Police Officer suffered minor injuries after a stolen vehicle collided, head-on with his cruiser early Monday morning. Just after 5:00 a.m., the officers had received a report that a white, 2016 GMC Sierra 2500 pickup was stolen from a property on Seventh Concession in LaSalle. While searching for the vehicle, police spotted it turning onto Bethlehem Street in the City of Windsor. Two LaSalle Police officers stopped and positioned their cruisers on the roadway to block the vehicle from escaping however the pickup raced toward the police vehicles and crashed head-on into one of them before fleeing the scene.
The GMC was later located abandoned in a residential area by Windsor Police officers.
The driver of the vehicle has not yet been identified and LaSalle Police are continuing to investigate.
The officer involved suffered a laceration to the head as well as a mild concussion for which he was treated and released from the hospital.
