LaSalle Police Service Launches Ontario’s Annual Crime Prevention Week, November 5-11, 2023

Town of LaSalle, Ontario, November 6th, 2023 — Today, the LaSalle Police Service proudly kicks off Ontario’s annual Crime Prevention Week, set to take place from November 5th to the 11th, 2023. This vital week-long initiative to promote crime prevention is supported by key stakeholders, including the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP), the Ministry of the Solicitor General, and police services across the province.

Preventing crimes before they occur remains the most effective strategy for ensuring the safety and security of our communities. Many types of crime are preventable, and Crime Prevention Week offers an ideal opportunity for Ontarians to reflect on their role in safeguarding their families, neighbourhoods, schools, and workplaces from criminal activities.

Senior Constable Terry Seguin emphasizes the significance of this initiative, stating, “Ontario communities are among the safest in the world, but community safety and well-being require concerted effort and collaboration. That’s why the LaSalle Police Service is proud to partner with government agencies, community leaders, organizations, youth, and businesses to proactively prevent crime in our communities.”

During Crime Prevention Week, LaSalle Police Service officers will collaborate with the Windsor Police Service and the Ontario Provincial Police Service at Devonshire Mall from November 6th to the 10th. They will provide invaluable crime prevention tips covering a wide range of topics. We invite all community members to join us, as knowledge is empowering, and through collective effort, we can each contribute to keeping our community safe and secure.
