Mental Health Act

On March 29, 2019, an officer was dispatched to a local residence for a report of a concerning post on a social media outlet. Upon first review, the post appeared to be suicidal in nature. After discussing the post with the party, it was determined there was a misunderstanding and the post had a different meaning altogether. The officers determined there were no grounds to apprehend the male under the Mental Health Act. Everyone is urged to seek assistance if needed. The Canadian Mental Health Association Crisis Line # 519 973-4435. A young man who was seriously contemplating suicide once made this statement to a LaSalle Police Officer who took the time to talk things through with him; “Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem”. Even if you can see no end to the problem, time changes everything. Don’t suffer alone. Ask for help!
