On May 16, 2019, After receiving a call from a towing company, Officers attended the LaSalle Turtle Club regarding a vehicle that was stuck in the mud. Officers spoke with a young person at the scene. They were not able to produce a drivers license and were subsequently issued a Provincial Offence Notice for failing to surrender a license. After detecting the odour of alcohol on the driver, a breath test was conducted which revealed that the driver had consumed alcohol. The driver was issued a Provincial Offence Notice for novice driver – blood alcohol concentration above zero, along with a 3 day notice of suspension. Lastly a purple marijuana grinder was located in plain sight which contained marijuana residue, resulting in an additional Provincial Offence Notice under the Cannabis Control Act. Officers examined the park and further tire marks were located in different areas. The investigation is ongoing.
