LaSalle Police Service Investigates 2 Fentanyl Overdoses Within the Last Week

Within the last week the LaSalle Police Service responded to two separate incidents of overdoses involving suspected Purple Fentanyl. In one incident, the victim, an adult male was unresponsive upon police arrival at their residence. A LaSalle Police Officer who was first on scene, administered two doses of Naloxone via nasal spray to the victim which revived them. Paramedics were called to the scene and the male was transported to the hospital for further treatment. The male is expected to recover. In a second incident, an adult female was also found to be unresponsive inside her residence by family members.

LaSalle Police Chief Announces Retirement

Chief John Leontowicz has tendered his notice of retirement to the LaSalle Police Services Board at the June 22 Police Services Board meeting. “On behalf of the Board, we would like to congratulate the Chief on his retirement and thank him for his dedicated service to our community during his 21 years. His wealth of knowledge of the organization and LaSalle will be missed and we wish him well in his future endeavors,” stated Mayor Bondy, Chair of the LaSalle Police Services Board. LaSalle Police Close Suspicious Person Investigation

On Friday June 12th, 2020, the LaSalle Police Service received a complaint of a suspicious male possibly impersonating a police officer in the area of Malden Road and Delmar Street. After an exhaustive and thorough investigation, the LaSalle Police Service have reason to believe that the incident did not occur as reported and there is no evidence to support a public safety risk by an unknown person impersonating a police officer in the Town of LaSalle. June 8th Theft An officer was dispatched to Zehrs on Malden for a report of a theft in progress involving two females. Two officers waited outside the exit of Zehrs and observed the Zehrs Loss Prevention Officer and two females that matched the given description exit the store with a full small cart of groceries and one female carrying four other bags that were filled. The LaSalle Police Service is investigating a suspicious circumstance after a young female reported to police that on June 12, 2020 between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM, she was riding her bicycle on Malden Road near Delmar Street when she was approached by a male driving a dark coloured sedan southbound on Malden Road.
