Police Apprehend Shoplifter

Officers responded to call regarding a shoplifter at the Outlet Mall on May 18, 2017. Once the officer entered the store, the employees in the store pointed to a male who had a history of thefts in the past, but had never been apprehended. As the officer approached the man, he quickly walked to the rear of the store while pulling out shoes from under his shirt and throwing them onto the shelves. The officer observed all of this and arrested the man. His bag was searched and the officer located a pack of socks still being held together with a plastic tab, but no price tag. The employees retraced the suspects movements in the store and located the price tag torn to pieces and thrown on a shelf.
The suspect had outstanding warrants from Windsor for similar offences and failing to appear in court. The suspect was charged with a new set of offences by LaSalle Police.
