A 60-year-old female from Windsor is facing charges of theft under $5000.00 and assault with intent to resist arrest after a shoplifting incident turned violent.
On the 15th day of May 2021 just after 4:30 PM, a loss prevention officer at Zehrs in LaSalle attempted to arrest the female for theft (shoplifting) as she exited the store without paying for almost $200 worth of unpaid merchandise. The LPO confronted her just outside the store and advised her that she was under arrest for theft. She threw a cup of hot coffee at him, ran to her vehicle and fled the area. The LPO was not injured.
