Temporary Closure of LaSalle Parks
In response to the Government of Ontario’s emergency order under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act to close all outdoor recreational amenities, all Town of LaSalle parks, sports fields and pavilions are closed. This is in addition to the previous closure of the playground equipment, the skateboard park, pickleball courts, tennis courts and basketball courts. The LaSalle Boat Ramp, located at Gil Maure Park, will also be closed at the end of the day on March 31. Please note that an individual’s failure to comply with an order made during a declared emergency could result in a fine of $750 to $1,000.  While the LaSalle Police Service strives to always work collaboratively with our citizens, please understand that these laws / measures have been enacted to help protect you, your family, your neighbours and all our citizens.  By working together, we can help mitigate the spread of COVID-19.  Our officers will continue utilizing the 3 pillars of our service delivery model…namely Awareness, Education and Enforcement.

Green spaces in parks, trails, ravines and conservation areas that aren’t otherwise closed remain open for walk-through access. This means that the green spaces in parks and the LaSalle Recreational Trails are open at this time, but individuals must maintain the safe physical distance of at least two metres apart from others.

The closures are an additional effort to stop the spread of COVID-19 and keep people home. The Government of Ontario has mandated the closure of non-essential workplaces and restrictions on social gatherings. The closures will remain in place until at least April 13, and will be re-evaluated as needed.
