Theft Under $5,000.00

On November 19, 2019, An officer was dispatched to a home on Victory Street for report of a theft. Officers arrived and spoke with the home owner who advised the front and rear license plate to her vehicle had been stolen and replaced with other plates. She advised the officer that she had attended Freshco on Huron Church and upon returning to her vehicle noticed her license plate was at a slight angle. Upon further inspection she realized, while the vehicle was hers, the license plates were not. She believed however there was a chance the plates were switched earlier that morning as she heard her dogs barking in the early morning hours. A query of the plates found on her vehicle revealed they had been stolen out of Windsor just a few days before. Windsor Police Service was contacted and were advised that the licence plates had been recovered. The license plates for the ford focus were added to the system as stolen along with the affixed validation sticker. Anyone caught in possession of the licence plates may be charged criminally with possession of stolen property. Anyone with information should call LaSalle Police Service 519-969-5210 or Crime Stoppers at 519 258-8477.
