Three-Day Driver’s Licence Suspension – Alcohol

On January 9, 2020, A LaSalle Police Officer had occasion to stop a motor vehicle on Front Road and while speaking with the male driver the officer detected the odour of alcohol on his breath. The driver tried to provide a false name to the officers however the officers were able to quickly and properly identify him via other means. The driver provided the officers with a sample of his breath into a roadside screening device which indicated that his blood / alcohol concentration was above 50 mgs of alcohol per 100 ml of blood. The male’s drivers licence was seized for a period of three days after which he will have to attend the MTO to reinstate his licence for a fee of $285.00. The driver was also issued a Provincial Offence Notice for failing to surrender their drivers licence which carries a fine of $110.00. Please don’t drink and drive.
