LaSalle Police Service is investigating a second incident of vandalism to a motor vehicle which occurred April 5th, 2021 at approximately 1:30 PM. The vehicle, a white Ford Mustang, was parked in the lot at Malden Square Plaza when a male was observed puncturing all four of its tires. The male left prior to being confronted by the owner of the vehicle. Police were called to the scene and checked the area for the culprit. The suspect was described as an older male who was wearing a blue coat, jeans, brown shoes and a medical mask. He was carrying a blue umbrella and a white plastic bag and left the lot in a silver, four-door, motor vehicle. The incident was captured on video surveillance from a nearby business.
The first incident of damage to the same vehicle was reported to the LaSalle Police Service on March 26th, 2021. The vehicle was parked in the lot at Malden Square Plaza and the owner reported that their vehicle had been scratched along the entire driver’s side. A review of surveillance video footage revealed that at 12:15 PM, a male wearing a black hoodie with the hood over his head and a medical mask walked along the driver’s side of the vehicle and appeared to be causing the scratches.
Deliberately causing damage to another person’s property is a criminal offence. If identified, the suspect may face two counts of Mischief to Property Under $5000.00 contrary to section 430 of the Criminal Code.
Any businesses in the area with video surveillance are asked to review your footage for the above times and dates to ascertain if the events were was captured on your video.
