We wish to make our residents aware that there have already been a few thefts of packages ordered for the holidays from doorsteps. If ordering on-line, please ask a neighbour to check your doorstep for delivery or leave a note for the delivery service with delivery instructions to leave with a neighbour or to try again at another time.

Abandoned/Stolen Vehicle

Earlier this week, LaSalle Police were dispatched to the area of Bouffard Road for the report of suspicious vehicle. A vehicle had been parked and left unattended for two days. The responding officers discovered that the license plates on the abandoned vehicle were reported stolen from Windsor. The vehicle itself had numerous documents with various addresses on them and it appeared that the documents may have been stolen during other thefts. Fraud

On Tuesday, November 6th, an officer spoke with a LaSalle resident who had been allegedly defrauded by Certified Windows and Doors. The resident had entered into a contract and obtained a loan for installation of new windows. The service was never provided and the business has since closed its doors, leaving the resident obligated to pay back the loan with no service received. The investigation is ongoing.

Theft

At approximately 4:30 PM on October 24, 2018, a male suspect attended the Ultramar Gas station on Malden Rd. where he proceeded to pump approximately $60 worth of fuel, re-entered his vehicle and drove away without paying. An officer reviewed the surveillance video and confirmed that a middle-aged male driver, bald, wearing a yellow long-sleeve yellow shirt enter a silver Dodge Ram pick-up, newer model and drive away without paying.
