Driver over 80 at 10:00 a.m.

On Sunday June 4th, at approximately 10:00 AM one of our officers was stopped at the intersection of Hwy 18 and Morton Drive when he observed a vehicle go through a red light. The officer followed and stopped the vehicle. While speaking with the driver, the officer immediately detected alcohol on the driver’s breath. When he asked the driver about the alcohol smell, the driver replied he had consumed a few beers the previous evening while watching a hockey game at a friend’s house. The driver was asked to blow into a Roadside Screening Device, and he failed the test.

On Saturday, June 3rd between Noon hour and 3:30 PM a 12 foot black enclosed MTI trailer bearing Ontario Licence M9115E was stolen from Gabrieau Street in LaSalle. The double axle trailer has Ontario Licence plate M9115E Black. He was out of his office when he called the number (1-800-467-0529 fake #) given to his office staff about the Hydro account being in arrears. Driver Charged with Stunt Driving

A young lady from Amherstburg was travelling through town on Front Road, in a vehicle owned by her father. One of our officers was conducting radar enforcement at the same time and clocked the young lady – speeding at 107km/hr in a 50 km/hr zone. The young lady was stopped and charged with Stunt driving. She now has a date with a judge at Traffic court. The vehicle was impounded for 7 days. The yound lady also got a licence suspension for 7 days. #YouSpeedYouLose #NotWinning !

Missing Man Found

LaSalle Police assisted in finding an elderly gentleman who was reported missing from a local assisted-living facility. The call to police came in just after 02:00AM. The responding officers attend the area, and within minutes located the gentleman at Sandwich West Parkway and Huron Church Line lying on the ground, unable to get up. An ambulance was asked to attend the scene to assess injuries to the senior citizen. Police Apprehend Shoplifter

Officers responded to call regarding a shoplifter at the Outlet Mall on May 18, 2017. Once the officer entered the store, the employees in the store pointed to a male who had a history of thefts in the past, but had never been apprehended. Trespass Complaint

Police received a report of trespassing and damage to farm land from a resident/farmer residing on Broderick Road. While tilling the land and seeding the farm, the complainant came across some areas of the farm where he could see that an SUV or Car had done ‘donuts’ and raked up the farm land. Chief Leontowicz and Mike Kakuk worked out an arrangement wherein both swapped jobs for a day.
