On March 18, 2019, officers were dispatched to the area of Gabrieau St for a report of a break and enter. The owner of a construction company reported that someone had broken into the storage container on site. Further information and evidence was provided to the officers by one of the neighbours from their surveillance cameras. Taken from the storage container were several tools and a generator. R.I.D.E. Program

On Saturday, March 16th, LaSalle Police Officers conducted a R.I.D.E. Program in the Town of LaSalle. R.I.D.E. is an acronym for Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere. Over the course of the evening, the Officers conducted multiple sobriety checks which resulted in two, three-day license suspensions. The drivers’ licenses were seized and destroyed, and both drivers found alternate forms of transportation home. LaSalle Police urges you to drink responsibly. Fraud

On Thursday March 14th, a LaSalle Police Officer met with a LaSalle resident in reference to a fraud complaint. The reporting person was selling personal items on Kijiji and received a response to their ad by email. The buyer offered to pay an extra $50.00 if the seller could take the ad off the site and agreed to send the reporting person a certified cheque in the mail. Vandalism

On Wednesday March 13th, LaSalle Police responded to Vince Marcotte Park for a report of a mischief (vandalism) complaint. A shed situated nearby had graffiti spray painted on it that was not there the previous day. It was later discovered that portions of the walking trail and a number of trees, that led east and west between the Pirate Ship Bridge and Malden Road had been spray painted with graffiti as well. On Monday March 11th at 1:40 AM, a LaSalle Police Officer was on general patrol in the area of St Thomas of Villanova Secondary School when he observed a vehicle enter the property. The officer watched two persons exit the vehicle then scale a fenced compound. Both persons were immediately arrested for breaking and entering and cooperated with police. Fraud

On Saturday March 9th 2019, Zehrs Great Food ,Loss Prevention Officer contacted the LaSalle Police Service to report a fraud. A patron was switching price tags off items and placing them in a shopping cart. LaSalle Police arrived on scene and after further investigation into the matter revealed the suspect had defrauded Zehrs. The suspect was placed under arrest for Fraud, contrary to section 380 of the Criminal Code. The person was released on a Promise to Appear and an Undertaking given to an Officer in Charge. Three Day Licence Suspension

On Friday March 8th, 2019, the LaSalle Police Service received a call regarding a pickup that was driving erratically. LaSalle Police officers intercepted the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on Laurier Drive at Front Road. Upon approach to the driver’s window , the officer immediately smelled the odour of alcohol . The officer demanded the driver to provide a sample of his breath into roadside screening device. Impaired by Alcohol

On Friday, March 1st, LaSalle Police Dispatch received a call from a local business who were reporting that a person was attempting to leave the business and was going to drive while impaired by alcohol and or drug.
