Roadside Suspension

August 9, 2019, At 9:30 PM, A LaSalle Police Officer stopped a vehicle on Martin Lane after observing it passing a vehicle on a curve in an unsafe manner. While speaking with the driver the officer detected a strong odour of alcohol. The officer demanded that the driver provide a sample of their breath into an approved roadside screening device. The test revealed that the driver had over 50 mgs of alcohol in 100 mls of blood. The driver was notified his license would be suspended for a period of 3 days and his license was seized.

Section 48 of the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario Governs the Warn Range Suspensions. The first suspension will result in a three day suspension, the second in a seven day suspension and the third in a 30 day suspension.
