On July 7, 2019, while conducting traffic enforcement for high water levels, an officer had the opportunity to stop a vehicle travelling south along Front Road. The driver was asked to provide his license, as well as permit and insurance for the vehicle. A query for his license revealed he was an unlicensed driver as his license had expired. The driver was subsequently charged with Driver motor vehicle – no license, contrary to Section 32(1) of the Highway Traffic Act. The expired license was seized and was returned to the Ministry of Transportation. A friend of the vehicle owner attended the scene to remove the vehicle from the roadway, which helped avoid additional towing costs.
